Furniture and Fashion 2
Furniture and fashion: it’s like the “chicken and the egg” reference.
They are forever crossing over in inspiration from the shapes to the fabric like a great boucle or wool sweater to a Eero Saarinen’s Womb Chair made with the same fabric. Or even the way furniture is used in advertising for a fashion designer like in this ad with Madonna in Versace sitting on the Eames Soft Pad Chair or Morgan Fairchild sitting on Arne Jacobsen’s Egg Chair in a Old Navy Ad.
Madonna: Eames Chair
Morgan Fairchild: Egg Chair
Another example of Furniture and Fashion: I came across a shoe that was called the Eamz shoe in a fashion magazine. It was by a company called United Nude and has established itself as an iconic brand at the intersection between design and fashion. The line is Inspired by furniture designers Charles and Ray Eames. The heels shape was conceptually inspired by an Eames Chair.
The collection of shoes are structurally beautiful and gravity defying.
Eamz Pump – the heel looks like the Eames Lounger.

The Womb Chair Reproduction: It’s Back 0
After a little hiatus, our famous Womb Chair reproduction is back! Not only is it back, it’s back better than ever. We have refined the Womb Chair reproduction in many ways:
- Increased thickness of the melton wool fabric (provides texture similar to original Knoll boucle’)
- Added microfiber and leather options versus wool only. The leather and microfiber options are currently special order, but we can do it. Contact us at 877-PGMOD-07 if you have question.
- Added strength of fiberglass shell. We’ve also increased the weight capacity of the chair, making it even stronger for commercial or residential usage.
Even with all the changes, we’re still offering the Womb Chair Reproduction + Ottoman at the same low price of $1,395 for wool and microfiber, and leather is slightly higher at $1,795 for standard leather, and additional for semi and full aniline leather options.
We got an immense amount of response when we removed the Womb Chair late last year. Every week, we were flooded with calls, “I’ve heard great things about your Womb Chair, I don’t see it on the site”, etc. We told you guys we’d bring it back, and it’s here to stay now.
We’re here for you. If you have any questions, give us a buzz at 877-PGMOD-07 and we’ll help you out.
